Federal & International Affairs Director

Aaron leads DMGS' Federal Government and International Affairs Practice. Aaron draws on his Capitol Hill experience and understanding of federal processes to guide clients' initiatives, whether policy, funding or procurement. Aaron has developed several successful federal grants including a $2.5M award for job training in the Pittsburgh region.

Experience

Prior to joining GSP, a predecessor to DMGS, Aaron's experience included the following:

Majority Counsel, U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, Subcommittees on Employment & Training and Aging, Washington, DC

  • Drafted several portions of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (PL105-220) including Title IV, the Rehabilitation Act Amendments
  • Coordinated Senate efforts to reauthorize the Older Americans Act, including interaction with the White House and Administration
  • Worked closely with Senate Legislative Counsel's Office and Committee leadership to develop legislation regarding the minimum wage, workplace safety, child labor, elder abuse, and veterans' employment
  • Facilitated Subcommittee hearings including witness selection, witness preparation, and briefing Subcommittee staff and Members

President, Grau & Associates, LLC, Alexandria, VA

  • Established and managed small business offering government affairs services
  • Provided federal appropriations services
  • Managed federal policy initiatives regarding labor, disability, civil rights, and workforce development issues
  • Contracted with the U.S. Department of Labor to provide political guidance and assist in drafting regulations

Education/Affiliations

Aaron received a J.D. from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University and a B.A. in English Writing and Literature from Emory University.

Aaron is a member of the Florida Bar, Georgia Bar, District of Columbia Bar, and Federal (Mid District of FL) Bar.
